Now you might be asking what is a favicon? A favicon is an icon that you are going to see in your browser like you will see in tabs shown when you are on a website or blog. Adding a favicon to your website is really important because it makes your site and brand look more professional and it makes it stick out.

The first thing you want to do is you want to make sure you have the favicon created of course. And the size of the favicon you want to make sure it’s 32 by 32 pixels or 16 by 16 pixels. This can be done in photoshop or any software that you like to use. If you don’t have design skills or you are not sure how to use photoshop an easy to use free design software that we recommend and that we use a lot here at WP Cupid Blog to create a favicon is Canva. We want to go ahead and head on over to your WordPress dashboard. Now on the left hand side we want to find the plugins tab. Go ahead and hover over it and we want to click add new. Now on the right hand side of the page you are going to see a search bar where we can search for plugins. Go ahead and we want to type in all in one favicon and then we want to hit search. Here’s the link to the plugin: And your going to see the all in one favicon now listed first. We want to go ahead and click install now and then once that is done installing we want to click activate plugin.

You want to go to the plugins page and we want to find the all in one favicon plugin and we want to click on settings. From here you are going to see the ICO Frontend, GIF Frontend, and PNG Frontend. Whatever file type your favicon is go ahead and click on that and select your Favicon and upload it. You don’t need to worry about anything else in this settings area for this plugin. Let’s go ahead and click save changes after you’ve uploaded the favicon. Go ahead and preview your site now and you should see in the browser your favicon is successfully showing.
